Where is the Awards Ceremony taking place?

This year, the Urbanism Awards Ceremony will take place in the Winter Garden and Terrace at the top of the Blue Fin Building in Bankside, London. Registration will take place on the ground floor.

The Blue Fin building is within walking distance of tube and rail stations including Blackfriars and Waterloo. A comprehensive list can be found here, and you can see the location on the map below.

Make a day of it!

The Urbanism Awards Ceremony will take place in the evening from 17:00. The Bankside area offers many points of interest, so why not make the most of your visit and spend the afternoon beforehand exploring and experiencing what this area has to offer?

A list of ideas and recommendations can be found here.

What is the dress code?

The Urbanism Awards Ceremony isn't a black tie affair, but it is an opportunity to get the glad rags on with a little less formality. The dress code for this event is smart casual.

Are there discounts available?

Early Bird discounts were available until midnight on Monday 16 October 2023.

Additionally, all AoU Members are eligible for discounts depending on membership type, and codes to unlock these can be found in the Members Corner here.

Members and Non-Members alike can save on group bookings of more than 3, by getting in touch with Connie at [email protected]

Where is Learning from Europe?

Historically a part of the in-person Awards Ceremony event programme, this year the Learning from Europe session will be taking place as an online event on Friday 17 November. By doing this, the Urbanism Awards learning will be made more widely accessible and will last as a recorded resource that members can revisit for years to come.

Access to this online event will be included in all Awards Ceremony tickets. Stand-alone tickets and more information can be found here.

Who are the finalists and how are the winners decided?

This year we have 14 finalists across the Great Place, Great Street, Great Neighbourhood, Great Town, and European City of the Year categories, and you can remind yourself of these here.

Each finalist has had an in-person assessment visit over the summer, and member voting is now open until Wednesday 1 November. The member vote will be considered along with the Lead Assessor's recommendation, and all winners are announced on the night at the Awards Ceremony.
