Laura joined The Academy of Urbanism in September 2026 as Programmes Organiser, bringing with her a background in the built environment sector and a few years' experience in PR and Communications. Working with consultancy agencies, she developed a particular interest in social impact - the social, economic and environmental ripple effects that new development can have on local communities, for better or worse.
Originally from Italy, Laura graduated from the University of Naples L’Orientale with an MSc in International Relations, and later spent some time as an intern at the US Consulate General of Southern Italy.
A person of contrasts, Laura's spare time tends to swing between two extremes: getting lost in a good book or getting out into the world and travelling far and wide. Whether exploring somewhere new or settling in with a good read, she's always curious about the world around her.
