Date: Wednesday 11 November 2026
Time: 14:30 (plenary) / 18:00 (party)
Location: 70 Cowcross Street (plenary) / Gazette Clerkenwell (party)
The Urbanism Awards winners will be announced this autumn, on Wednesday 11 November, at an evening party held in Clerkenwell, London. The evening celebration will be preceded by an afternoon panel discussion reflecting on lessons from the 2026 awards cycle.
Gazette sits on St John’s Square, at the heart of Clerkenwell – London’s urbanism quarter, known for its international design reputation and its claim to “more architects per square mile than anywhere else in the world.”
The party will be hosted here, while the afternoon session will take place round the corner, at the AoU’s offices in the Alan Baxter building on Cowcross Street, another well-loved hub of urbanism.
Following online Learning from the Finalists sessions in October, the afternoon discussion will look at what else we can take away from the awards process and touch on this year’s theme of joy. At the party we will announce the 2026 winners for Great Streets + Spaces, Great Neighbourhood, Great Town / Small City, and European City of the Year and connect with finalist representatives and other fellow urbanists over drinks and a standing dinner.
Tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks – in the meantime save the date!
Discounted rates will be available for AoU Members. To sign up as a member click here.
Both venues are within a 5 minute walk of Farringdon station, served by Elizabeth, Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith & City lines as well as Thameslink services. Marrable’s Hotel is located next door to Gazette, and there are many other accommodation options nearby and towards King’s Cross.
