After decades of service between them, the AoU Board bids a fond farewell to Andrew Burrell, Tony Reddy, and David Rudlin, who have all stepped down having served the maximum number of terms both as Directors and Chairs. They have each played a significant role in shaping and sustaining the Academy and its legacy, and we look forward to continued collaboration.

In their place we welcome four new Directors, as well as a new Chair.

Incoming Chair

Jas Atwal
Director, Kevin Murray Associates

Jas replaces Andrew Burrell as Chair of the Academy of Urbanism, having sat on the Board as Director and Vice Chair.

At the Academy, she has curated 11 years of Congress, led key 'Learning From' events in Lisbon and Antwerp, and was instrumental in managing the Freiburg Charter event.

With an educational background in sociology and psychology, Jas has a passionate interest in how our environment, physical and social, shapes us as individuals and communities and what makes for successful places, with happy and healthy residents. The Academy has provided the perfect home to develop her understanding, sharing knowledge and learning from other people and places.
