In this lunchtime session we will explore how innovation can put "life in the years" of older people in our new post COVID 19 world. Most older people wish to continue living in mixed age communities. Ian Spero will inspire us that neighbourhoods can encourage wellbeing and reduce isolation. How can stakeholders and older adults make the dream a reality? Liz Loughran will consider Needs Assessments with reference to the future demand for housing and support services. Future planning will need to match rolling changes in supply and demand which never stands still. Councils, developers and the care industry need to work from a joint strategy supported by annual guidance. This strategy can be enabled by increasing the use of technologies in the home and in the wider neighbourhood to improve service delivery and other measures to support health and well being.

The speakers this week are Liz Loughran, Managing Director, Line Planning and Ian Spero is founder of the Agile Ageing Alliance (AAA) and the session is chaired by Janet Sutherland, The Academy of Urbanism and Housing Consultant.
