George Weeks moved from London to Auckland in 2017 to become a Principal Urban Designer at the Auckland Council Design Office. He is responsible for refreshing the Auckland City Centre Masterplan (CCMP) which provides a design-led vision for the heart of the city. George has also contributed to Auckland Council’s prizewinning work to develop a business case for walking and has helped to shape Auckland Transport’s Roads and Streets Framework. His work reflects a lifelong interest in the designs of city streets and their impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Outside work, he sails sportsboats on Auckland’s Waitematā Harbour.

The session was chaired by Vicky Payne, Senior Consultant – Planning and Urban Design, URBED. Vicky is a planner and urban designer working at URBED in Manchester.
