With a multidisciplinary background in social sciences, Richard joined the Urban Planning Agency of the Lyon metropolitan area, Urbalyon, in 2010, after more than ten years of experience in research and consulting. He specializes in the analysis of uses and lifestyles, with a focus on qualitative approaches. Drawing on applied research methods and design thinking, he leads surveys and projects at the intersection of sociology and urban planning, placing the needs and perspectives of residents and users at the heart of his work.

Since 2022, he has been actively contributing to discussions about the design of public spaces around middle schools.

Richard will speak as part of the Imagining A Healthy Future for our Places session on Friday 13 June
