Congress Volunteering

Every year, the Academy of Urbanism makes its temporary home in a European city for Congress. Spanning several days, Congress offers tours, workshops, plenary sessions, and receptions across a variety of interesting venues. Previous host cities include Belfast (2022), Eindhoven (2019), and Cork (2018).

Young Urbanists are invited to volunteer during Congress in exchange for a free ticket to the full event. Duties include:

• Registration - assisting AoU team during set up and registration periods, generally being a friendly face to point guests in the right direction
• Photography - taking photos during events running simultaneously, such as tours and workshops, where the event photographer can't attend in full
• Timekeeping - keeping an eye on timings during a specified session and signalling to the speaker how much time is left

Beyond your scheduled sessions, you will be free to attend Congress as a delegate.
