Urbanism is a multi-dimensional field which offers numerous employment opportunities for individuals who are interested in the practice of good urbanism and how it can establish a high quality of living, nurture a healthy and creative way of life, support economic, social, political, and cultural activities.

At this event, we will be joined by Public Practice and other guests to discuss careers in the public sector.

Panellists:

  • Rumi Bose - Royal Borough of Greenwich
  • Nicola Dale - Associate, Public Practice
  • Harriet Fisher - Learning & Development Manager, Public Practice
  • Oliver Padmore - Design, Conservation and Sustainability Officer, Westminster City Council
  • Anna Sinnott - Director of Planning Consultancy, Be First

Chaired by Charlotte Morphet AoU

Public Practice is a not-for-profit social enterprise that believes the role of local government is crucial in creating and managing everyday places that work for everyone. They work to help build the capability of public sector placemaking skills with their key service - The Associate Programme. The programme places mid-career built environment practitioners into professional job placements as ‘Associates’ within local authorities to work across a wide range of place-based roles.

This event is aimed at students and early career professionals and is free for AoU Members, and also open to non-members at £10. The number of attendees is limited to ensure an engaging learning experience followed by a networking session to meet other purpose-driven urbanists. Sign up today!
