The Academy's Young Urbanists invite you for a special afternoon visit to New Ground, a pioneering project led by a group of women who have created their own community in a purpose-built block of flats in North London. This residence, comprising 25 flats and shared indoor and outdoor spaces, provides homes exclusively to women over 50, who are looking for an alternative to living alone and want to be part of a community of supportive neighbours and friends.

New Ground has received global recognition as a recipient of the 2024 Work Habitat Award, and last year were featured in an article by The Guardian. You can also find out more on their website.

The New Ground residents have kindly invited us to visit the site, where we will have the opportunity to hear from them about their experience in planning and delivering this project.

This event is open to all, with priority access for Members. Non-Member booking will be available from Tuesday 13 February. This event has limited capacity, allocated on a first come, first served basis, so booking is essential to secure your spot!
