Date: Saturday 19 September 2026
Time: 12:00 - 16:00
Location: Titanic Quarter, Belfast (see booking confirmation email for meeting point)
Join us on a walking tour of Belfast’s Maritime Mile to explore the ongoing evolution of the city’s waterfront. Four years on since the Academy of Urbanism Congress, the iconic Titanic Belfast is now joined by residential towers and a hotel, while two masterplans have been launched, one for the waterfront promenade and another for the next 25 years of the harbour.
The walk will be led by local Academician Dr James Hennessey, and involve talks en route from the Titanic Hotel to Sailortown.
For those arriving by train, an 11am pre-meet is arranged at Grand Central Station, and for those in no hurry to leave, the walk will be followed by an opportunity for informal socialising with fellow urbanists.
