About the tour
This walking tour is a case study of a place which is more than just a park.
Beckenham Place Park has undergone a complete transformation in a number of phases over the last 8 years. It is now a very successful park - and generates an income. 150 people work in the park, there are over 1M annual visitors, and 10s of thousands of volunteers’ time has been accounted for. From a loss-making golf course to an amazing asset for people, increased catchment, upward trend in ethnic minority use and very high visitor satisfaction.
