This presentation will discuss the masterplanning process for two strategic mixed use developments in the same county but under different Local Authorities, each with different approaches. One is very involved and keen to see as much detail as possible. The other is more interested in the strategic frameworks. Both masterplans are being developed within the same timescales and both have just completed their first online public consultation. Both speakers are involved in both masterplans and both masterplans are for the same client – The County Council.

The joint presentation will cover the different approaches and their results as well as the complexity of balancing the various competing elements in a masterplan including land use, landscape, density, movement, character, placemaking and commercial reality.
