Are you a Sustainability Consultant looking for an exciting new challenge in Leeds or Manchester? Buro Happold is looking for an Associate Consultant to join our Sustainability team and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package plus a hybrid working pattern.
Working as part of the Sustainability and Physics team, we are seeking a candidate with experience of providing bespoke sustainability and wellbeing guidance, zero carbon strategies, climate emergency plans at corporate policy level, for master planning, building design and operations. Our team proudly supports hybrid working and we would like to invite you into our office 2-3 days a week.
Key duties:
- Sustainability project and service support (including managing a portfolio of projects and contributing to the development of new sustainability service offers)
- Project leadership and direction/mentorship of more junior team members
- Production of technical guidance and analysis to influence sustainability strategies (including leading workshops to help clients define their strategic sustainability brief)
- Providing written comments and producing reports and presentations with excellent visual and grammatical quality
- Working as part of multidisciplinary teams (including, but not limited to attending meetings with architects, planners, government agencies and clients as the project lead)
- Formulating external presentations for outreach and business development purposes
Your skills & experience:

- Ability to communicate in an effective and confident manner
- Working knowledge of wellbeing and sustainable design techniques, analysis or modelling relevant to the construction industry or corporate strategies
- Experience in undertaking and reviewing technical analysis, and the development of suitable responsive strategies
- Experience producing high quality graphical and written outputs
- Strong facilitation and team working skills and a drive to deliver outstanding results
- Sustainability assessment qualifications (e.g. LEED, BREEAM, WELL) and evidence of practical competence of their application
- Exuding passion and enthusiasm for the built environment to support human outcomes and fair distribution of value
- Relevant Degree in Engineering or Sustainability and preferably chartered with a relevant professional institution
